TrueMargin is an admin-only Shopify app that works out contribution margin from the merchant's own orders, product costs and cost rules. No storefront, no customer-facing page, no email.
Installed merchants launch the embedded app from Shopify Admin → Apps → TrueMargin.
What TrueMargin does
- Start from real orders. Read the shop's own orders, discounts and line items rather than a sample or a blended average.
- Apply product costs. Use the unit cost already held on the variant, so the margin moves when the cost does.
- Add the costs Shopify does not hold. Set rules for shipping, payment fees, advertising, returns and duty, and see them inside the same total.
- Check a scenario first. Use the calculator to test a price or a cost change against the same rules before committing to it.
- Report on what is left. See contribution profit by order, product and period, so the thin lines are visible rather than averaged away.
Figures follow the costs and rules the merchant enters. TrueMargin does not change orders, prices or inventory.
