Terms of service

TrueMargin reads a store's Shopify orders, products and inventory unit costs, applies the cost rules the merchant enters, and presents contribution margin by order and by product, a price calculator and a CSV export. The app holds read-only Shopify scopes and changes nothing in the store: it does not edit products, prices, inventory or orders, and it has no storefront component.

Margin figures are only as good as their inputs. Product cost comes from the unit cost recorded in Shopify, and every other cost comes from rules the merchant enters. Where a unit cost is missing, a currency does not match or a rule is invalid, the app reports the calculation as incomplete rather than treating the unknown value as zero. The output is management information to support a decision. It is not accounting, tax or investment advice, it is not a statutory record, and it should not be relied on as the sole basis for pricing, filing or reporting.

Merchants are responsible for keeping Shopify unit costs current, for entering accurate cost rules with a correct currency and effective date, for checking figures before acting on them, and for using the app only for lawful business activity within their own store.

TrueMargin is free for every store. There is no subscription, no trial, no usage allowance and no charge raised through Shopify, and the app never handles or stores payment card details. If that ever changes, any charge would be presented through Shopify for approval before it applied.

The app may ask, after the first few days of use, for private feedback about the product. Answering is optional, the message goes only to us, and it is never tied to or exchanged for a public App Store review or rating.

We maintain and monitor the service but cannot promise uninterrupted availability of Shopify, its APIs, networks or our own hosting. We may make proportionate changes needed for security, compatibility or reliability. Shopify API rate limits can delay a page load, and the app is designed to report that rather than fail silently.

The merchant remains responsible for its own business and customer relationships. Fleeta Limited processes store data on the merchant's instructions to provide the service, subject to the privacy policy, Shopify's requirements and applicable data-protection law. The app does not request or store shopper personal data.

We may suspend abusive, unlawful or security-threatening use. A merchant can stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the app, which triggers deletion of that store's data as set out in the privacy policy. A Shopify shop redaction request has the same effect.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, the app is provided as it is, and Fleeta Limited is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for commercial decisions taken on the basis of figures the merchant has not verified.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
